Rended Heart Announces Grand Opening of Chosen Boutique and Ready Training Center

The nonprofit serves and supports survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation with its presence in the community

Aug. 16, 2021 – KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rended Heart, a nonprofit organization fighting against human trafficking, opens Chosen, a new boutique, on Saturday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Ready Training Center to continue their mission of setting individuals free from sexual exploitation and trafficking.

According to the latest data from National Human Trafficking Hotline, Missouri saw a 332.86% increase in human trafficking cases over a four year period (2015-2019). In response, Rended Heart is growing their services and resources available to survivors by opening Chosen, A Rended Heart Boutique, and The Ready Training Center.

Chosen, A Rended Heart Boutique, serves as a place for the community to engage in supporting the services and resources required to provide temporary housing, medical assistance, counseling, and social services to survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Gently used women’s clothing and accessories are available for purchase and all proceeds directly benefit survivors.

“Human trafficking is a pertinent problem in our society that affects many women,” said Denise Lester, Founder of Rended Heart. “With the addition of the boutique and training center, we will be able to further raise awareness of and support survivors of trafficking.”

In addition, Rended Heart establishes The Ready Training Center for women to equip themselves with the hard and soft skills necessary to meet their future goals. The center provides mentoring, addiction recovery groups, and a variety of classes from culinary to resume building and technology tools.
